I have played violin for over 20 years and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I recently graduated with my Occupational Therapy Doctorate from Boston University.

Music is a way to express ourselves and communicate in a different way with the world around us, and I think the most important part of playing violin is having fun! I really emphasize this in my teaching.

I am very passionate about musician wellness. It is so important that we use our bodies well and avoid playing related pain. In my teaching I focus on getting players into a comfortable position with their violin. While I primarily teach beginners, I do lessons for seasoned players who are looking to improve their technique and positioning. Wellness is not just about your body though. In lessons I also like to address performance anxiety and how to keep balance in your life as a musician.

I recently completed a doctoral capstone project at Brigham and Women's Hospital with Kelly Belinsky, MSOT who specializes in musician's injuries. The project included creating resources for musicians who are recovering from injuries and continuing or returning to play.
